Heathfield School in Ascot rated ‘Excellent’ across all areas by the Schools Inspectorate – is applauding its GCSE students and staff for their hard work, drive and commitment reflected by this year’s results across a broad range of subjects. 26% of all grades were awarded at 9 or 8, with several subjects achieving Independent upwards of 90% 9-7 grades. Almost 20% of the year group achieved straight 9-7 grades across all their subjects.

We are so proud of all our GCSE pupils, the majority of whom have surpassed the grades predicted by standardised data by a wide margin. Some of their stand out performances included:

  • Sarah, an Academic and Drama Scholar, achieved 6 x 9s, 2 x 8s and 1 x 7, and is excited to be studying Science and Maths A Levels at Heathfield in preparation for her application to study Medicine at University. Sarah also plays first team sport and clarinet in the orchestra.
  • Sasha gained 100% 9-7 grades whilst rehearsing for the lead in the next Heathfield musical production and playing first team sport.
  • Martha, Drama Scholar, achieved 100% 9–7 grades alongside playing a lead role in the drama production last term and actively participating in sport and the Fashion show.
  • Elmira, who played the lead in Macbeth last year, achieved 7 x 9s, 2 x 8s and 1 x 7.

On average, students achieved a value added score1 of almost one grade higher than their predicted grades in each subject.

From Art to French and Classical Greek to Chinese, this year’s GCSE cohort at Heathfield have had the opportunity to choose from 15 optional subjects in addition to core GCSEs such as Maths, English and Science, reflecting the school’s dedication to providing a personalised education that allows students to pursue their individual interests, whilst benefitting greatly from small class sizes.

Commenting on this year’s achievements, Heathfield’s Headmistress Sarah Rollings said, “I am so proud of this year group and their results. These young women have triumphed both in their studies and in their individual development, thanks to their tenacity, determination and character.’

With GCSEs under their belt, the majority of these Heathfield students are now looking forward to moving on to the school’s new £1.5m state-of-the-art Cadogan Sixth Form.

The school welcomes prospective students and their parents to its Sixth Form open evening on Wednesday 27th September 2023, 18:00 – 20:00. The evening will include presentations by the Headmistress and Sixth Form staff followed by a tour of the School and Sixth Form facilities.
