Saturday 22nd June – Cordes Hall Cinema.  We’re calling this Oscar Saturday – because at 5.00 pm we’re showing Green Book, which won the Best Film and it is so good.  Then at 8.00 pm we’re showing The Favourite which won our very own Olivia Colman Best Actress.  You may have heard differing opinions about this film so this is your chance to make up your own mind.  I’ll just say that I’m glad I saw it and Olivia deserved the Oscar.

RACC WEBSITE    CRICKET for GIRLS WEBSITE

Cricket for Girls will be running a May half term cricket camp at Royal Ascot Cricket Club 28th -30th May

Our camps are run by all female teams and are aimed at girls between 9-15 years of age, for beginners as well as experienced hard ball players.

Cricket for Girls was established by Lydia Greenway who played over 220 times for her country and is a multiple Ashes and World Cup winner.  The girls will have an opportunity to meet Lydia who will be visiting the camp on 30 May.  More and more schools are dropping rounders in favour of cricket as the main summer sport and it is becoming a very popular sport amongst all age groups with many Cricket for Girls coaches working with schools in the local area such as Wellington and Lambrook.   This will give  girls an opportunity to try out cricket for the first time or to hone their skills.

On Wednesday 10th April over 80 local residents and employees attended two Windsor Community Defibrillator Partnership (WCDP) CPR/Defibrillator Training Sessions in the Guildhall, Windsor.

The 90-minute training sessions are designed to inform members of the public how to respond should they find a person unconscious.  The training covered the possible symptoms, contacting the emergency services, applying CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and the use of a Defibrillator.

The training session was led by State Registered Paramedic Dick Tracey, who, following his early retirement as a senior manager at South Central Ambulance Service, has dedicated his time to training community groups on how to safely use community defibrillators.
