After winning the ISFA Regional Under 11, 7 a side football tournament earlier in the year and with the opportunity to compete in the ISFA National tournament as the prize, the Papplewick Under 11 A team travelled up to St George's Park, the home of England football, to compete in the 24 team competition. Before a ball was even kicked, and by pure chance on a walk up towards the pitches, they were fortunate enough to meet and be photographed with Gareth Southgate!

Although sadly they did not go on to win the tournament, the experience of meeting the England Mens' National Team Manager was most certainly an experience that will be etched on the boys' memories and needless to say they are keen to qualify again next year.

Tom Bunbury, Headmaster said ' This was an unexpected bonus for the team and I am sure will be a huge contributory factor for inspiring them to train hard and qualify again for the ISFA National Tournament next season.
