Year 4 visited Dr Choc's Chocolate Factory opposite Windsor Castle on Thursday 23rd January as part of the ‘Geography of Chocolate’ scheme of work for their Geography course where they divided into two groups - one making and decorating chocolate bars making 3 bars using a choice of dark, milk or white chocolate, all ethically sourced from Peru whilst the other group enjoyed a presentation on the process of chocolate- making with a quick history lesson involving Hernan Cortez, Mayans and monkeys! They then swapped over and came away armed with their bars and bags of knowledge as to where the cacao pods are grown and the process that occurs to transform it into chocolate.
Headmaster Tom Bunbury said "This particular part of the Year 4 Geography course always seems rather popular, funnily enough !"
