Tree House :: Sebastians Action Trust

Hundreds of families with seriously-ill children had a magical time at Sebastian’s Action Trust’s Christmas party in Surrey.

Parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters supported by the Crowthorne charity attended two spectacular parties on Sunday November 24th.

Sebastian’s Action Trust’s staff and volunteers dressed as elves or wore Christmas jumpers to greet families who then explored all of the attractions within the winter wonderland.

There were games, arts and crafts, a sensory room, face painting, Photobooth, sweet stall, petting farm with donkeys and reindeers, soft play area, disco and Scalextric racetrack.

Our charity chair of trustees, Mark Courage and his wife Joan, were Father Christmas and Mrs Claus for the day, giving hundreds of children gifts in Santa’s grotto. Another popular attraction was a 10ft snow globe where families could step inside and have their photos taken with falling snow.

Jane Gates OBE, Sebastian’s Action Trust’s CEO, said: “This has got to be the biggest Christmas party we’ve organised so far and it was absolutely fantastic. It takes months of preparation to put on such a magical Christmas party and it was all worth it when we saw what a wonderful time families were having.

“There were so many things for families to do. There was fantastic food, games and attractions throughout the afternoon.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in helping to put on such a great event and to everyone who made a donation through our sponsor a child for Christmas campaign.”
