A Crowthorne charity is encouraging people who do their Christmas shopping online to help them raise money to support seriously-ill children.

Sebastian’s Action Trust, has a family outreach centre in Upper Broadmoor Road, Crowthorne, and supports 528 families from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Hampshire and Oxfordshire who have children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

The charity is asking people who shop via the Internet to use the AmazonSmile or Easyfundraising online shopping websites.

When making an online purchase using these sites, donations can be made direct to Sebastian’s Action Trust at no extra cost to shoppers.

Simply choose Sebastian’s Action Trust as your chosen charity when setting up an online account on both sites and start shopping.

For every purchase made, Amazonsmile and Easyfundraising will make a small donation to the charity.

  • Sebastian’s Action Trust is an incorporated charity based in Crowthorne, Berkshire. Developed from the vision of one very special nine-year-old boy and launched just twelve days before he died of cancer in 2003, Sebastian’s aim for the charity was to provide a place where life-limited children and their families can holiday together away from the rigours of hospital appointments, gruelling treatment schedules and prying eyes. He wanted to create a private place where memories could be made which would last a lifetime, even if that life was to be cruelly cut short.

  • In 2011, Sebastian’s vision was finally realised when The Bluebells, the UK’s first purpose built respite holiday home was completed. Since opening in July 2011, The Bluebells has given over 400 families the opportunity to spend precious time together.

  • In late 2017, the Trust purchased an ex-NHS site in Crowthorne, Berkshire, which was named The Woodlands. The Woodlands is a base from which a range of therapeutic services are available to the families of children with life- limiting or life-threatening conditions.

  • Our work also extends into emotional and practical support for families during the darkest days of their lives. This work is delivered by trained outreach family support workers, who work with our supported families to ascertain their needs and deliver bespoke support, aimed at easing their suffering and isolation.

  • Our work is primarily focused across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Wiltshire and Hampshire, although we do also support families from further afield.
