The painting holiday
Rural Costa Brava painting holidays in Spanish Catalonia combine
relaxation and fun with the availability of stimulus, skilled guidance and
a small, friendly group of like-minded people.
Develop your personal style with expert support in a simple, informal
environment, through a flexible itinerary of
·
structured group sessions
·
one to one guidance and tuition
·
free time for indoor or outdoor painting, relaxation or
exploring the area and informal get togethers
Group
sessions include colour theory, design and composition, paint properties,
materials and techniques, special effects and working with a limited
palette.
Enjoy working in the studio or in gardens
surrounded by majestic local scenery. Or simply relax, play tennis or
walk the many surrounding paths through woods and meadows.
We
encourage everyone to produce at least one completed painting to take back
with them - and perhaps one or two others to continue working on.
Just a short journey away: a wealth of art
venues in Figueres, Girona and Barcelona made famous by Dalì and Gaudi,
good food in local restaurants, medieval towns, stylish shopping, markets
with local produce and bogedas with quality wines.
The venue
Set
in stunning countryside in Catalonia, Spain, San Nicolau is an inspiring
rural setting for everyone who loves to draw and paint. A small family-run centre with spacious, simply furnished, self catering, rustic apartments and cottages

Your tutor
Aurora Spain is a professional artist and tutor
who lives and works in Berkshire. Patient and inspirational, Aurora
encourages both beginners and experienced artists to develop their own
style whilst learning about the artistic tools of painting technique -
colour, composition, value, rhythm, the use of mixed media and many other
aspects.
Aurora is a WEA-trained tutor, a Professional Associate and Tutor of the
Society for All Artists, and an experienced course leader on all aspects
of painting. She also gives demonstrations and workshops for local arts
groups.
She is resident artist at CMI, Sunningdale, a key local community venue,
where she also runs the ‘Rendezvous Renoirs’ art class for adults. For
more experienced artists who may have lost their way or are uncertain how
to go forward Aurora will help them review their direction and rediscover
their muse!
Much of Aurora’s own work is
carried out to commission, and she has also exhibited in a wide variety of
venues.
