The painting holiday

 

Rural Costa Brava painting holidays in Spanish Catalonia combine relaxation and fun with the availability of stimulus, skilled guidance and a small, friendly group of like-minded people. 

 

Develop your personal style with expert support in a simple, informal environment, through a flexible itinerary of

·         free time for indoor or outdoor painting, relaxation or exploring the area and informal get togethers

 

Text Box:  Group sessions include colour theory, design and composition, paint properties, materials and techniques, special effects and working with a limited palette. 

 

Enjoy working in the studio or in gardens surrounded by majestic local scenery. Or simply relax, play tennis or walk the many surrounding paths through woods and meadows.

 

Text Box:  We encourage everyone to produce at least one completed painting to take back with them - and perhaps one or two others to continue working on.

       

Just a short journey away: a wealth of art venues in Figueres, Girona and Barcelona made famous by Dalì and Gaudi, good food in local restaurants, medieval towns, stylish shopping, markets with local produce and bogedas with quality wines.

Text Box:  Set in stunning countryside in Catalonia, Spain, San Nicolau is an inspiring rural setting for everyone who loves to draw and paint.   A small family-run centre with spacious, simply furnished, self catering, rustic apartments and cottages set in extensive grounds with swimming pool and tennis court.  Within easy reach of major airports and cities (Girona 40 minutes, Barcelona 90 minutes), and a superb mediterranean climate, it’s an ideal venue for small group and activity holidays.

Weekend break (3 nights) ₤325 per person

One week (5 nights) ₤525 per person

Reductions for 8 nights, shared bedrooms,

non painting partners. Price does not include travel. There

are economical flights from Stansted to Girona (2 hours).

Text Box: Aurora demonstrates a technique to some of her students                            Aurora Spain is a professional artist and tutor who lives and works in Berkshire. Patient and inspirational, Aurora encourages both beginners and experienced artists to develop their own style whilst learning about the artistic tools of painting technique - colour, composition, value, rhythm, the use of mixed media and many other aspects.

 

Aurora is a WEA-trained tutor, a Professional Associate and Tutor of the Society for All Artists, and an experienced course leader on all aspects of painting. She also gives demonstrations and workshops for local arts groups. 

 

She is resident artist at CMI, Sunningdale, a key local community venue, where she also runs the ‘Rendezvous Renoirs’ art class for adults. For more experienced artists who may have lost their way or are uncertain how to go forward Aurora will help them review their direction and rediscover their muse!

 

Much of Aurora’s own work is carried out to commission, and she has also exhibited in a wide variety of venues.
